My two top values are justice and individual freedom.  That means freedom from the stress and worry connected with financial problems, relationship breakups, and wondering what will happen to those you leave behind when it’s your time to leave this world.  One of the things I love about my work is having clients tell me they can now sleep at night.  Or that a huge weight has just been taken from their shoulders.  Helping clients achieve that kind of relief is why I do what I do.

PRACTICE AREAS

  • UNLAWFUL DEBT COLLECTION  –  One focus of my practice is consumer issues – especially debt and credit problems.  If you need to settle a debt, sort out credit report problems, or stop bill collectors hounding you (especially after you have filed bankruptcy) call today.  This behavior can be stopped and might also put some money in your hands, too!
  • BANKRUPTCY – A Chapter 7 bankruptcy can help you get rid of oppressive debt like credit cards, mortgages, and medical bills.  Taxes, too! (restrictions apply). If you have the usual kind of possessions that most people have, you are unlikely to lose anything.  Most people keep their car, retirement funds, and much more.  Every case is different, so please make an appointment for a free consult.
  • MEDIATION – In addition to being an attorney, I have a Master’s degree in Psychology and was certified as a mediator through the Oregon court system.  I find that helping people to resolve conflict without having to go to court is very rewarding.   It’s also cost effective, creative, and much less stressful.  I am available for mediating pretty much any type of dispute.
  • BASIC ESTATE PLANNING – It’s not usually something we like to think about, but it’s very important just the same.  I can provide you with basic estate planning tools like wills, living trusts, powers of attorney for healthcare and finances, and living wills to make sure your wishes are honored regarding the medical care you want (and don’t) should you become unable to speak for yourself.
  • GENERAL CIVIL PRACTICE –  If you need a contract drawn up or reviewed, or don’t know what to do about your neighbor’s barking dog, just pick up the phone or send me an email through the Contact Us form.  We’ll figure out a plan that works for you.
  • LIMITED REPRESENTATION- I’m a fan of self-help. It saves you money and keeps you involved in the case.  You never have to wonder what your attorney is up to!  If you want a coach who can oversee your doing some legal work on your own, don’t hesitate to let me know.  Washington has been on the forefront of what’s called limited representation.  People who have the desire and ability to do some of their own legal work can do so with an attorney simply reviewing their documents, consulting on strategy, advising about procedure, etc.
